Traditional sports in Indonesia

Traditional native sport is a sport growing in the local area. In Indonesia, there are a variety of well-known traditional sports.

Although diverse, not a lot of traditional sports in Indonesia, which appears on the surface. Sports games such as Fortress, Galah Asin, Benjang, Langga, Manggurebe, Runway Strip, and Zawo Pathol-Zawo, only known by a limited circle, particularly in areas where the sport originated.

The benefits of developing a traditional sport in Indonesia is that the sport can continue to be inherited to the next generation as a heritage rich culture of Indonesia. The exercise will be documented and the introduction of the so known as a sport that originated from Indonesia. It is becoming increasingly important for UNESCO (United Nations Organization for Education, Science and Culture) began documenting the culture of all countries in the world as a world cultural heritage.
